Anniversary

Anniversaries…per the dictionary its a date on which an event took place in a previous year.

One anniversary I can never forget is our wedding anniversary.

Our anniversary is TODAY, March 29th!

Pablo and I met in Brooklyn, NY. We started dating December 10th of 2000. After dating we started to share with each other our thoughts about marriage.

One day while Pablo and I went to our favorite Colombian restaurant in Queens, NY we were pulled over due to the window tint and the loud noise that the muffler emitted. I became upset since it was a night that was going so well. After the police officer gave Pablo 3 citations with fines I advised Pablo to take me home. He sure didn’t give up since he had a mission to complete.

There in the care with the citations between us Pablo asked me to marry him. I was surprised and excited. I had all these emotions going through me as well since I was 17 about to turn 18.

 

The thoughts of finishing High School, going to college, look for employment, locate a home wither apartment or house…etc…

Even though those thoughts passed through my head I knew we were making he best decision for us.

After our private engagement we had our Pastor do a little ceremony and pray over our next steps in front of our congregation. Quickly the wedding planning started.

Within those wedding planning we had marriage counseling given to us by our Pastor. He was able to correctly guide us into situations we would face after we said “I do”.

Fast-forward to March 29, 2003…I walked down accompanied by father and maternal grandfather.

The ceremony was done in front of family and friends.

We celebrated our marriage after the ceremony at our favorite Spaniard restaurant.

Pablo and I have been married for 16 years and together for about 19 years.

I thank God for the opportunity of allowing me to share my life with Pablo. He has been the best husband, friend and father I could have asked for.

We have had our ups and downs but with God by our side and having the Pastor we have has helped us overcome obstacles.

Happy Anniversary baby, love you to the moon and back. Here is to many more…xoxo
